Obituary of Gordon Coates

Gordon Alfred Coates born Dec 19, 1929 in Cereal, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Killam Hospital May 6, 2025 at the age of 95.

It is with great sadness Gordon leaves behind to mourn his loss, wife Dolores of 72 years and children, Sharon Ann (Ian), Raymond (Chris), Trish (Doug), Christine (Philip), Jackie (Jay), Mary Lynn (Curtis), 10 grand children, 18 great grandchildren, 5 Great great grandchildren, sister in laws, brother in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gordon was the last member of his immediate Coates family, predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Frank Coates, sisters Margaret & Angel, brothers Clinton & Vernon, son-in-law Ian, infants great grandson Riften and great great grandson Denver.

Gordon worked hard and pursued various careers throughout his life, a few of these being; driving a horse drawn milk wagon, grain elevator operator and owner/operator of Gordon’s Trucking. After retirement he hauled grain & fertilizer for the Rosiechuk family, tour bus driver, drove sports teams and even a school bus driver!

Gordon will be remembered for his strong family values, work ethic, love of horses,  participating in all sports, community volunteer and so much more!
