Obituary of Joanne Cecelia Jackson
It is with heavy hearts that we share of the passing of Joanne Cecelia Jackson of Galahad, Alberta on August 29th, 2025 at the age of 82 years. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Joanne was a true example of kindness, grace, and generosity.
Joanne was born on March 14th, 1943 in Galahad, Alberta to parents Mildred and Reid Elliott. She spent her childhood years in Alliance and upon completion of High School she pursued her education in Edmonton, Alberta as a combined Lab and x-ray technologist. During this time, she became engaged to her life partner and husband of 61 years, Howard Grant Jackson. Joanne and Grant spent many happy years raising their children on their family farm south of Galahad.
Joanne is survived by her husband Grant Jackson, sister, Marilyn Elliott, children, Michelle (Brad) Weatherill, Scott (Peter Craig) Jackson, grandchildren, Chelsey (Sal) Torres, Dawson Weatherill, Kayley (Brendan)Bourcier, Chase (Hanna Frank) Jackson, great grandchild, Londyn Torres.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Edmonton Cross Cancer Institute or the Galahad Community Cemetery.
