Obituary of Clarence Rott
It is with great sadness that the family of Clarence Orval Rott, of Killam, announce his passing on July 26th at the Killam Health Care Centre after a courageous battle with prostate cancer.
Clarence was born in Galahad on May 26, 1946, to Christian and Bertha Rott. Clarence was the youngest of four boys and spent his entire life in the Killam area.
Clarence was a hard-working, unassuming man, who enjoyed sharing his lifelong passions of gardening and woodworking with others. He would spend hours on projects for family and friends and took pride in the joy his work brought others.
Clarence is survived by his daughters Angela Rott (Troy), and Melissa Brilz (Kelly), grandchildren Hayden and Hailey Brilz; brothers Herb Rott (Grace) and Gordon Rott (Cathy); and numerous members of his extended family.
Clarence was predeceased by his father Christian, mother Bertha, brother Melvin, and common-law partner June Toronchuk.
Special thanks goes out to the staff and medical team at the Killam Health Care Centre for the excellent care and compassion provided to Clarence during his last days.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 31st, 2:00 p.m. at the Killam United Church, with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Clarence’s honour may be made to the Killam & District Health Care Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
