Obituary of Beulah Simpson

Beulah Elaine Simpson was born in Vulcan, Alberta to Eugene and Mabel Sevrens on September 6, 1926. She passed away at Killam, Alberta on March 20, 2021 at the age of 94 years. As a youngster, Beulah lived in Milo, Gleichen, California, Sundre (James River) and Calgary. After her and Maurice were married, they lived south of Sedgewick, moving into town in 1970. After Maurice's passing, Beulah moved into the Sedgewick Lodge, to Daysland and then to Killam Continuing Care. After graduating from high school, Beulah achieved her teaching certificate at Calgary Normal School. One of Beulah's sister in laws was raised locally and when a teaching job came open at the Goose Creek School, Beulah was eager to explore the area so she applied and was accepted. Beulah boarded with Marjorie (Simpson) Adamson. It was here she met her future husband Maurice. She enjoyed her life on the farm, raising her family and teaching school. Beulah's first teaching job was at the Goose Creek School. She returned to work after taking off time to have family, teaching at Merna, Alliance, Lougheed and Sedgewick Central High. Beulah cherished her time spent with family, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, beading, bowling, playing cards and bingo. Maurice and Beulah spent many hours with family and friends searching for arrowheads, camping and fishing. Beulah was an active member of the Goose Creek Ladies Club and Lougheed Women's Institute for many years. Beulah is survived by her four children; Dwayne (Gwen), Elaine (Jim), Gwen (Cliff), Jean (Wes); 10 grandchildren; Scott (Denille), Sandra (Lee), Melinda (Brian), Susan (John), Tracy (Greg), Caryn (Andy), Crystal (Chase), Ryan (Heather), Cheryl (John), Mitchell; 24 great grandchildren; Lexi, Lynea, Kingsley, Gabriel, Bailey, Regan, Tristan, Jace, Rylan, Jayla, Greyson, Braia, Alexander, Parker, Maverick, Aria, Caidence, Ethan, Alyse, Haley, Cora, Avery, Joel, Bridget and step granddaughters Danielle (Tony), Dawn, and their children; Chloe, Evan, Zoe; sister Shirley and numerous nieces and nephews. Beulah was predeceased by her loving husband Maurice on April 4, 1998, her parents Eugene and Mabel and siblings Lucille, Lorraine, Emogene, Jake, Bill, Myrtle, Tom and Leola.
