I would like to add my condolences to Roberts family for his passing. Robert was our family pharmacist when we lived in Sedgewick and such a wonderful caring person. He gave me comfort when I lost my husband and son and I will always remember him for that kindness.

When you live in a small community there are some people who you think will always be there.
Kind friendly and caring people like Robert Borth.
Always with a cheerful smile, hello and he knew everyone.
He Took the time and was always interested in how your family was doing and he had an awesome memory .
If ever at a function where there was singing you could hear Robert ( he is in a choir with the angels now I am sure .

Janet and family - It is with great sadness that I learned of Robert's passing. I never met a man who thought so much of his employees; he was a man of integrity. Having worked at the drugstore during my high school years and then during the summers while in University, he always treated me with respect and kindness. In fact, he made it so much easier for me to continue my University education because I always knew I could go back to the store when university classes were finished for the term. Returning to work during the summers was like "old home week" as I was always welcomed back with open arms by Eddie and Josie and Robert. It was like I had not been away. Anyone who worked there was always treated like family. His trust in me to manage the store while Helen was on holidays gave me the self-confidence to tackle anything.
Some of my fondest memories were working in the store with such a great staff (Robert knew how to choose them), the staff Christmas parties, babysitting Michael, Robbie and Kurtis and then of course helping to train Michael to work in the store too. I also remember travelling with you and Robert to see Shirley Eikhard in Camrose and singing "Let it Be" on the way home.
The Borth family made an impact on my life and I am so grateful for Robert's kindness in hiring me and ultimately allowing me to be a small part of the Borth family.
Our deepest condolences from Val and Denis Basterash

Janet, Michael, Rob (Pam), Kurt (Faye) and families. It is with great sadness that I pass along our sincere condolences to you all on the loss of Robert. He was not only someone I considered a friend but also a man that I looked up to and admired, someone who I try to model my life around. He was always so kind to me and always had time to visit. Robert Borth will always be synonymous with the town of Killam. A town he was both proud and supportive of but more so, he was proudest of his family. You all meant the world to him. He will be dearly missed by all who ever met him and we’re lucky enough to get to know him.
Now I want to share a couple of fond memories of Robert with all of you but more so for his grandkids. I grew up with Mike but also knew Rob & Kurt very well. I was fortunate to play men’s Killam Braves baseball with all 3 of you boys and hockey with Mike & Rob. I will fondly remember how our men’s Killam Indians hockey team was struggling to make a go of playing in the highly competitive BRHL. Robert so graciously donated the use of his drugstore delivery van (I think he actually bought it with our team in mind but repurposed it for his business as well as our team!). Not only did he provide us the use of what we aptly nicknamed “The Iron Lung” but he stocked it with chocolate bars and other goodies from the store plus ensured the gas tank was always full for us for our road trips. He often drove the van for us on road trips or entrusted us to drive it and return it to the store upon arriving back in Killam. I remember sitting in the passengers seat as Roberts copilot on many road trips. We shared a love of old time country tunes and one of Bobs favorites was on a cassette tape he had stored - “Streets of Bakersfield” by Buck Owens & Dwight Yoakam. We would crank it up and Bob would sing, the boys in the back hated it and would holler at us to turn it off, change it, and throw stuff at us! I will forever associate that song with Robert and smile when I hear it playing.
I will also forever remember Roberts memory for names and people. We could be driving to a game in Consort, AB and cutting across country through Brownfield & Talbot on secondary highway 599 when out of the blue Bob would say to us, “I know the family that lives and farms there,” and proceed to tell us a detailed history of the family. We knew if we ever broke down with the “Iron Lung” that we never had to worry because Bob knew darn near everyone in Alberta! We marveled at his memory and attention to detail.
I will miss you my friend but I will never forget you! Rest in peace.
“Lewie”

I'm so sorry to hear of Robert's passing Janet. As a couple, you were such a part of my life for so many years, starting with my high school years as Robert's part-time clerk and hanging out with Judy when she lived with you. When I returned to Killam on visits, the drug store was always my second port of call after dumping my luggage at mom and dad's. If you weren't in the back pricing new merchandise (which you frequently were), Robert was always there with a smile and a chat. And the annual Christmas drinks at your home and seeing the staggering amount of presents under the tree, which you always said had to be cut back, but I don't remember that happening. Through the decades Robert was always at the store, always cheerful, always interested in what was new in my life. He was such a huge part of the Killam community and touched so many people's lives as the other tributes so clearly show. My heart goes out to you and the family.

I will always remember how Robert always had time to say “hello” and chat a bit whenever I saw him in the drugstore. He was a wonderful, giving person and had a beautiful soul. I know he also had a beautiful singing voice that he shared in Christmas concerts in school and also in the United Church choir which I was also a part of for awhile. Robert was one of the very first people whom I met when I moved to Killam almost 35 years ago. He was always genuinely interested in getting to know everyone who crossed his path and would never forget the details one shared with him. He always had a friendly hello with a warm smile on his face and over the years I was usually greeted with, “Hi, Brenda. How’s the Rosalind girl doing?” And back in the day, if the “Braves” beat the “A’s”, I could always count on a comment from Robert.
Robert had a huge, kind and caring heart and on numerous occasions would be seen coming through the hospital doors to visit a patient or resident to brighten their day with his warmth and great sense of humour.
It has been a pleasure to care for this man while he was a patient in the hospital. Never one to complain and always so thankful for even the smallest of gestures.
He will be deeply missed.
Much love and condolences to Janet and the entire family. ❤️
