Obituary of Gail Canning

Gail Marie Canning (Marlow) was born to Gordon and Alma Marlow on April 3rd 1964 and passed away peacefully at the Royal Alexander Hospital on July 15th 2024 at the age of 60 years.

 

Gail grew up in Edmonton and went to school there until grade 11. She then moved with her dad and mom to Lougheed where she finished grade 12. She eventually moved back to Edmonton where she met her future husband Dave Canning. In 1991 Gail and Dave moved to BC eventually settling in Surrey where she built a home and career. She worked for F.M.A for over 30 years as a valued member of their team. Gail and Dave were married on September 7th 2002.

 

Although Gail and Dave never had children of their own Gail enjoyed a very close relationship with her niece Trista and held a special place in her heart for her nephew Bryan. In 2019 they moved back to Edmonton to be closer to her family.

 

Taken from us too soon, Gail’s shining light and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all her family and friends she left behind. Gail will be remembered with love by her father Gordon Marlow, sister Sharon Marlow, brother Mike Marlow (Grace),  father-in-law Stanley Canning, sister-in-law Carla Canning, niece Trista Shewfelt (Dan), nephew Bryan Marlow, great-nephew Nate Shewfelt and great-niece Sadie Shewfelt. Her aunts, uncles, cousins and her friends in BC, Nova Scotia, and Alberta. Gail is predeceased by her husband David Canning and mother Alma Marlow.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Gail to the Kidney Foundation, an in memory page has been set up.
