Obituary of Torrie Amundson
Our dad Torrie Selmer Amundson of Killam Health Care Centre passed away peacefully with special granddaughter Jody by his side on July 19 at the age of 99 years.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Erma in 1991, his parents Thorvold and Selma Amundson and siblings Aimee, Shirley, Alice and Rowland.
Torrie is survived by his children and spouses – Wilbert & Dianne, Danny & Harriett, Dawn & Warren, Bob & Mary, Bernie & Sally, Angela & Ziad, 18 grandchildren and 13 spouses, 21 special great grandkids and one great-great-grandson, his sister Helen Armer of Weldon SK and many nieces and nephews.
Torrie was born June 26, 1919, on the farm near Robsart SK, moved to Weldon in the mid 30’s, married Erma in 1944, moved to Amisk in 1955 and farmed there until he retired in the 80’s, moved to Hardisty and then in August of 2009 he moved into the Killam Long Term Care.
Thank you to the wonderful, compassionate staff that has cared for our DAD for 9 years. Torrie indeed had a great home and lots of wonderful friends there!
Graveside service to be held on Monday, July 23 @ 2:00 @ Amisk Park Lutheran Cemetery. Lunch and celebration of Torrie’s life will follow at the Senior’s hall in Amisk at 2:30. Donations can be made to the Amisk Park Lutheran Cemetery in memory of Torrie.
