Obituary of Millet Shawley

Millet passed away peacefully at the Hardisty Health Center on June 2, 2019, at the age of 83.

Millet was born in Thorhild, AB in 1936 to parents Louis and Mary Shawley. The Shawley family moved to the Amisk area when Millet was a baby. Millet grew up on the family farm. In 1959 he married the love of his life, Dorothy Meier. Together Millet and Dorothy Shawley raised two daughters and farmed in the Amisk area for the next 60 years. Millet loved the farm and took great pride in raising Purebred and Commercial Charolais. He also had a great passion for watching his grandchildren participate in many different sports, he never missed a game.

Millet will be missed by his loving family, his wife Dorothy, his two daughters Maxine (Mike) Bouma and Gail (Kelly) Barnes. Grandchildren Ryan (Shelby) Bouma, Kyle Bouma, Quintin (Kristi) Barnes, and Kelsy (Lucas) Barnes. He will also be missed by his brother Leslie (Margaret) Shawley, family, neighbors, and friends.

Millet was predeceased by his father Louis and mother Mary Shawley.
